blog ≥ i-pod

i haven't forgotten about you. i've just been a little preoccupied with my new i-pod. i hope you can forgive me. i'm really only capable of dealing with one new piece of technology at a time. yes, i recently got a cell phone (although i rarely answer it) and, yes, i finally got my HD tv to work (after a friend suggested that i turn it to an HD channel), but me and technology don't go together so well.

as for the i-pod, it's great. for a music lover like me, it's heaven on earth. although i couldn't get it to work right off the bat (my computer doesn't have windows xp), and although i did have one minor meltdown (when i accidentally downloaded enrique inglesias), i'm really glad i got it.

i've spent the past three or four weekends doing nothing but downloading my cds onto my i-pod. in fact, sometimes at night, i dream of the cds i want to put on it next. i really do. i've carefully scrutinized each cd. i've gone artist by artist and hand-picked my favorite albums and favorite songs. it's a labor of love, really. i currently have over 4,000 songs (that's approximately 10 days of continuous music), and i'm nearing completion. i have plenty of other cds to add (at least half of my collection), but i don't wanna hit shuffle and hear a bad song or a bad album. i'm kind of a perfectionist.

anyway, it's really cool. i take my i-pod to work and plug it into the computer and voilah, i have every great album i own at the touch of my fingertip. it's almost instantly made my work days better. i'm surprised whenever a new song or album comes up. the beatles, jawbreaker, the jesus lizard, bruce springsteen, son volt, poison, helmet, johnny cash, nirvana, it's like reliving every musical style i've ever gotten into.

but, but, i didn't mean for this to come out sounding like an i-pod love affair, although i'm sure that's how it sounds. what i really wanted to say is that i miss my blog, and i'll start writing more and more and more and downloading less and less and less.

picture book

HAPPY NEW YEAR from jack mcdoer and everyone at iwannabeyourblog! you'll be happy to know that one of my many resolutions for the upcoming year is to blog more! that being said, i don't exactly have a lot to write about at the moment. 2006 is not much different than 2005, at least not yet. so, rather than ramble on and on about whatever it is that i normally ramble on and on about, here are some pictures from the last few weeks, a holiday scrap book if you will, to keep you readers reading ...

my wife and i bought each other a leather chair for christmas. it's name is chairy. although i'm still trying to get used to opening household items like kitchen tables and washing machines rather than toys for christmas, i have to admit that i kinda like it.

we also got matching ku gear (although my wife's not wearing her rock chalk hoodie), a robotic dog, lots of clothes, plenty of travel-sized deodorants and shampoos, a cookbook with recipes from chilis and an ipod which i haven't figured out yet.

my youngest brother, however, got the coolest present of the day.

and then there's new years. things started out innocently enough at the restauraunt. some good friends, some fancy food, a few drinks ...

i like this picture because it doesn't make my head look that much bigger than my wife's.

after dinner is when things started to get a little out of hand ...

at least for 26-year-olds (and ryan).

here's my wife doing her best dirty dancing impersonation ...

and me trying to top her.

as midnight came and went, things got crazier and crazier ...

i could show you more pictures, but my wife has deemed them inappropriate for the web. iwannabeyourblog ain't no adult site! if you'd still like to see them, however, you can send a check or money order for $ 9.95 plus shipping and handling to iwannabeyourblog, attn: pictures, 1234 main street, anytown, kansas, 66123.
